Geoff & Anne Gunner -
May
Dear Marina and staff,
Just a little note to say thank you for a brilliant holiday. Your apartments are by far
the best in which we have ever stayed.....
Good luck for the summer. I'm sure we will contact you about our next visit to Madeira
before very long.
Thanks again. Kind regards,
Olive Dowton (aged 82

Dear Marina & Manuela -
It's the most peaceful place I've ever been.
When I arrived and walked into the grounds, I felt it was so peaceful.
Older people don't necessarily want to move around too much and this place is paradise.
The staff are so in the background, but are so always there to help. The villa is cleaned
every day, I've never had that done- spoilt me rotten.
It's so lovely for me to spend my last holidays in such a lovely place
The kitchen is so well equipped and everything works, and my daughter is able to provide
and cook the most delightful cuisine.I always sleep well.
I think it's ideal for elderly who are not so capable of getting around now, suits me down
to the ground, I love seeing the boats coming in to the marina from the villa under 'my
banana tree'. Now, when I go there with my daughter and her friend, it is the most
tranquil part of my life. The first thing I make for is to sit under 'my banana tree'. I
love watching the tiny lizards on the terrace.

Although we thought after a first trip (fly drive 1996) to Madeira we would not
necessarily go back again, we came back for Olive who always wanted to go to Madeira, and
we have found the Quinta and 'our Villa', and so much look forward to the peace and
restful quiet there - it's like a retreat from everyday life.
We aim to come to the Quinta every 6 months - we've never found another place that
inspired that kind of response.
The swimming pool is so different from any other hotel pool - it's always quiet and never
resounding with radios and tape players or loud voices - everybody respects each other's
space
It's nearby everything that one needs to visit - shops, sights, scenery ... - but without
the noisy environment of the hotel zone
The staff are always there with local information that is not necessarily included in
guidebooks
Everyone who works at the Quinta is pleasant, discreet, and friendly & very welcoming.

Dear Marina
Can we say how much we enjoyed our holiday and how helpful you all were. It was our first
visit to Madeira and as we booked the holiday ourselves we were a little apprehensive.
However, we need not have worried as for self catering accommodation this would be hard to
beat. Being out of the town (but only a cheap taxi or bus ride from the centre), it was
quiet and very friendly. The staff were extremely helpful in pointing us in the direction
of things to see and do, and, although we hired a car, on the times we took a bus, they
were extremely efficient. The apartments are set in pleasant grounds and have lovely views
over Funchal, as well as being well equipped. There is plenty to see and do in Funchal
although if you stayed near the centre it would be a bit noisy. The apartments are
situated close to the old town which has a wide variety of restaurants.
